The evidence for Jesus’ resurrection is so strong that nobody would question it except for two things: First, it is a very unusual event. And second, if you believe it happened, you have to change the way you live.

Wolfhart Pannenberg

I was saddened to learn of the death of Dr. Wolfhart Pannenberg on September 4, 2014, he was 85 years old.

Dr. Pannenberg was a German Lutheran theologian. He made a number of significant contributions to modern theology, including his concept of history as a form of revelation centered on the resurrection of Christ, which has been widely debated in both Protestant and Catholic theology, as well as by non-Christian thinkers.

Dr. Stanley J. Grenz – who was an important presence in my life and development as a theologian – studied under Dr. Pannenberg in Germany. Here are links to a few articles Stan wrote engaging his mentor’s work:
