We see that it is not the task of Christianity to provide easy answers to every question, but to make us progressively aware of a mystery. God is not so much the object of our knowledge as the cause of our wonder.

Saddened to learn of the death of Eastern Orthodox bishop and theologian, Metropolitan Kallistos Ware of Diokleia. He died on August 24, 2022, he was 87 years old. Born Timothy Richard Ware, he received the name Kallistos as part of his ordination in 1966.
Bishop Ware was known for cultivating unity, dialogue, respect, and friendship across faith traditions and within the various streams of Christianity. In many ways he was a great translator of the Eastern way to Western followers of Jesus.
I was lucky enough to hear him deliver a talk on prayer hosted at Seattle Pacific University.
The entire cosmos is one vast burning bush, permeated by the fire of the divine power and glory.
