Until recently I was building a new deck on my home (a gorgeous deck plan). Well, the other day there was a knock on our door and a Bellevue City Code Enforcer greeted me. He informed me that we had three problems.
One – we were working on our deck without a permit.
Two – we are living in community, and our house doesn’t have the AUD description to allow for a person to have their “own” space in our house.
Three – there is a small faith community gathering in our home.
Now the first two items are just a matter of opptaining permits and bringing a few things up to AUD code – not a big deal – in fact I’m looking forward to having our AUD up to code. It never even occured to me that this could be an issue when my brother started living with us years ago.
The bigger issue for me has to do with the concern raised regarding “house church.”
