It’s official! Today, I successfully passed the oral defense of my dissertation; my readers signed off on it. Though the hooding ceremony is at the end of April I believe I can be called “doc” . . . but please don’t.

i cant wait to hear the story of the defense — if there is one. but for some reason i think you probably blew their caps off. I can now say that I am a student of Dr. Friesen. but dont worry, ill still call you dwight. see ya monday in class
