My doctoral work is getting back into gear. Online discussions begin again on Monday – Labor Day – what’s up with that?

Our cohort is going to be discussing a little book, “Letters Across the Divide: Two Friends Explore Racism, Friendship, and Faith” it’s a collection of letters written between two Christian friends, one African American and one European American. It’s been helpful to listen in as these two friends discuss their experience of anti-black racism in America. At times I would have liked to hear them parse class and race, or subculture and race but their example of intentionally developing a relationship with someone to explore mutual “stereotypes” seems profound. Makes me wonder what my next step might be. I have so much to learn.

Grateful for these two friends willing to let us listen in and learn.

Peace, dwight
