Parish Collective’s Inhabit Conference is hands down my favorite event to participate in… sure I’m a bit biased but I think it’s normal to feel a special connection to one’s family and that’s how Inhabit feels to me… family.
Our first day is under our belt, with one more to go. It does feel different to be in a new venue. It also feels necessary and important. Yet, many of us were walking around wondering where to go. Inhabit also put a greater emphasis on helping facilitate connection within our bio-regions… seems wise. I’m excited to hear feedback on what kinds of new relationships emerged through this emphasis on regional connection and collaboration.
Also, I’m co-facilitating a breakout session tomorrow with Haley and Torie on “Theology in Place.” I hope it’s helpful. I’m not sure centering “theology” is a good idea… but we’ll see. I would kinda prefer we keep talking about practice, postures, and presence… “Theology” gravitates toward agree/disagree conversations. So pray that we have wisdom in how we engage the theme we’ve been given.
Thanks to all the Parish Collective team, to the host site (Quest Church), to the many sponsors who make it possible, and all the volunteers who are making it happen.
Peace, dwight
