A couple of years ago Fuller Seminary posted a series of short videos stories under the simple title: “Neighbor.” I found many of the stories to really beautiful. I commend them to you.
One story that really touched me was Daniel D. Lee’s. He offered a glimpse into his journey of seeing his own story, as a first generation Korean American, inside the larger “Asian American.” Dr. Lee shares that he moved to the USA in the 1980s with his folks. And some years later he had a powerful realization about what it means to live in America as he was viewing an exhibit about the Japanese internment camps. At one point he says, “…These people look like me. This could have been my family.”
