Every December Christianity Today publishes its books of the year. This year in “The Church/Pastoral Leadership” CT awarded The New Parish: How Neighborhood Churches are Transforming Mission, Discipleship and Community its Award of Merit!
Writing of our book for CT David Swanson, pastor of New Community Church in Chicago wrote, “The authors explore how the limitations of staying rooted in a particular place actually provide opportunities for transformation and mission. This is counterintuitive for churches that have bought into the mobile and transient values of our culture.”
CT went on to publish an excerpt from the book, titling its piece “The church is Slime (in a Good Way!)“
