I have recently come in contact with Sunil Sadar, who gives leadership to the Truth Seekers Society, a group that seeks to serve and liberate the repressed castes of India known as the Dalits. The Dalits are the “untouchables” or “outcastes” of society; they are not even worthy (according to Brahmin scripture) to be a part of the human society.
Sadar sees their reforming work with the caste system as being somewhat similar to the West’s Abolitionist. A social reformer named Phule founded Truth Seekers in the early 19th Century and their is still much work to be done. Harijan means “Children of God” and was the term Mahatma Gandhi coined for the “untouchables”.
Jim Henderson of Off-the-Map recently interviewed Sadar.

Sunil goes to the same church I attend in Delhi and it is always breathtaking to hear about the work he is involved with. Thanks for linking this interview.
