Well, I’m home for one day and then I’m off again. This is not the way my life has usually is… how do people who travel all the time get the everyday stuff done?
I spent the last couple of days in Kansas City, MO/Jacob’s Well, with Tim Keel, Joe Myers, Chris Jehle, Jason Clark, and Bill Wallenbeck. We were exploring some of the implications of emergence theories and scale-free networks for churches, leadership and church-planting. Outstanding thinking, rooted in real world praxis. I can’t believe I get to participate in these kinds of conversations… so blessed!
While our little group was lost in the quantum world of self-organizing theory in the next room over emergent was having think-tank focused around encouraging/supporting indigenous “cohorts” to facilitate local emergent leaders and their communities. Laci Scott, Geoff Holsclaw, Tim Conder, Rick Bennett, Andrea and there may have been a couple more folks.
A special thanks to Tim, Laci and all the people at Jacob’s Well for a wonderful couple of days together.
Tomorrow I head out for Phoenix, as I have the privilege of officiating the wedding of some dear friends.
Peace, dwight
