I’m in the process of writing an essay on the concept of leadership as a communal ethos (I talked a little about this on 3/25). This is a constructivist position arguing in favor of a self-emptying, relationally connective form of service within a social network contrasted with a type of ontological and hierarchal leadership.

  • Must ontological leadership result in hierarchy?
  • Is one person within the Godhead the leader?
  • Can a social organization structure itself for changing leadership?
  • Do leaders exist?
  • Are there a set of primary leadership functions? Or are the functions always determined by unique needs of each community?
  • How might the relationality of the Trinity inform/transform our understanding leadership?

I am interested in referrals anyone has for resources, books or articles that might be useful, I could use all the help I could get. All suggestions will be eagerly engaged.

Peace, dwight
