“The Seattle School” has arrived

I’m excited to inform you that as of the beginning of last week we officially changed the name of our school – Mars Hill Graduate School is now The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology. The staff has been hard at work these past months as we prepared for this change. Official documents were changed, governing bodies were notified, a new web domain was secured, email addresses updated, stationery was designed and ordered, and as you can see we have updated our brand to better reflect our identity.

Our new name will now carry our important mission and work into the future. And may God continue to bless our efforts to train people to be competent in the study of text, soul and culture in order to serve God and neighbor through transforming relationships.

Our new web address is theseattleschool.edu
Email addresses: First Initial Last Name @theseattleschool.edu – emails sent to @mhgs.edu will be forwarded on for several months.
Building signage updates are coming this week.
For short, please utilize “The Seattle School” as opposed to our new initials TSS or TSSTP.

oh yeah! my new book is out!

I am thrilled that to announce that I just received my first bound copy of my book and it is available at a store near you…

This book was born in the context of an eleven-year life altering experiment in ecclesial life, fleshed out in learning communities with thoughtful women and men who never ceased to ask insightful and revealing questions, and now it is being published by my new friends at Baker Books.

I hope you’ll take a look at it. I’m very excited to offer my voice and contribute, even a small piece, to the ongoing conversation. . . let me know what you think.

exciting news (at least for me) about new book

Just found out that our completed manuscript for our new book has been officially accepted by Zondervan. I looks like the book should hit the shelves in October 2010.

The book will be titled, Routes & Radishes: and other things to talk about at the Evangelical Crossroads. It is a co-authored projected exploring the history and future of the modern Evangelical movement. Mark Russell, Michelle Sanchez, Allen Yeh, Chelle Stearns and me.

BTW though I got this this image from Zondervan’s web site I don’t have confirmation regarding it as the final cover . . . I’ll post the cover as soon as I see it.

Looks like I will be speaking at the NW ministry conference in a few months. One of the things I really appreciate about this event is the efforts to keep it affordable. Check out the growing list of presenters at the event and find other information.
